\u201cEl virus del <\/strong>COVID-19 <\/strong><\/a>no se ha ido<\/strong> y los datos de 84 pa\u00edses <\/strong>muestran que en las \u00faltimas semanas los casos confirmados han aumentado en el mundo<\/strong>\u201d, declar\u00f3 esta semana en Ginebra la directora de Prevenci\u00f3n y Preparaci\u00f3n para Epidemias y Pandemias de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS<\/strong>), Maria Van Kerkhove.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuanto m\u00e1s circula el virus, mayor es la probabilidad de que mute y se vuelva m\u00e1s severo,<\/strong> seg\u00fan los datos y la evidencia cient\u00edfica que maneja la agencia sanitaria internacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ante ese escenario, y a m\u00e1s de cuatro a\u00f1os de declarada la pandemia por COVID-19, un problema de salud cada vez m\u00e1s habitual preocupa a los investigadores: el COVID prolongado<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las secuelas posteriores al COVID-19, tambi\u00e9n conocidos como COVID persistente o \u201clong COVID\u201d<\/strong>, hacen referencia a una variedad de s\u00edntomas persistentes que algunas <\/strong>personas presentan despu\u00e9s de haber cursado la infecci\u00f3n inicial <\/strong>por el virus SARS-CoV-2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
