La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud activ\u00f3 este s\u00e1bado su m\u00e1ximo nivel de alerta para tratar de contener el brote de viruela del mono, que ha afectado a casi 17 mil personas en 74 pa\u00edses, anunci\u00f3 su director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe decidido declarar una emergencia de salud p\u00fablica de alcance internacional\u201c, dijo Tedros Adhanom en una rueda de prensa, afirmando que el riesgo en el mundo es relativamente moderado, salvo en Europa, donde es alto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tedros explic\u00f3 que el comit\u00e9 de expertos no hab\u00eda podido llegar a un consenso y segu\u00eda dividido en cuanto a la necesidad del m\u00e1ximo nivel de alerta. En \u00faltima instancia, la decisi\u00f3n corresponde al director general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
