Fue tambi\u00e9n conocido como \u2018Cinco Copas<\/strong>\u2018 por ser el primer futbolista en jugar cinco Copas del Mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se caracteriz\u00f3 por ser un portero<\/strong> que atajaba sin guantes; inclusive jug\u00f3 con el dedo anular derecho fracturado, lesi\u00f3n que mantuvo en secreto durante a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una vez alguien me dijo \u2018gato con guantes no agarra rat\u00f3n\u2019\u2026 No sirven para nada. Jam\u00e1s us\u00e9 guantes\u201d, dijo en entrevista<\/a> para El Pa\u00eds<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Carbajal Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> inici\u00f3 su carrera en 1942 con el Club Oviedo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 1948 fue vendido al Real Club Espa\u00f1a<\/strong> donde coincidi\u00f3 con el cantante Jos\u00e9 Alfredo Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, quien en ese momento tambi\u00e9n era portero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para 1950 se incorpor\u00f3 al Club Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, equipo con el que gan\u00f3 dos campeonatos de liga y en el que permaneci\u00f3 hasta su retiro, en 1966.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En una nueva etapa se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como entrenador del Le\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n fue asistente del entonces entrenador de la Selecci\u00f3n Mexicana, Ra\u00fal C\u00e1rdenas de la Vega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
